46 traditional game players from BIGA perform in Brahmaputra Festival-2017

KOKRAJHAR: As many as 46 players from Bodoland Indigenous Games Association (BIGA) who participated in the Namami Brahmaputra Festival, 2017 held at Guwahati showcased the traditional games in the sporting arena from October 31to November 4 last. The demonstration of traditional games became one of the centers of attraction in the mega festival.
The BIGA players demonstrated the traditional ‘Khomlainai’, ‘Dahal-Thungri Sibnai’, ‘Mwkra’, ‘Daobo Aithing’, ‘Khomlainai Kata’, ‘Dongfang Bukunai’ and ‘Gila’. The 46 member team of indigenous game association was led by the Joint Secretary of the BIGA-Ajit Kr. Basumatary while Mijing Barzary led the Khomlainai team as coach.
DIPRO, Kokrajhar and Chirang-Gagan Chandra Narzary and Joint Secretary of the Bodoland Indigenous Games Association Prasanta Kr.Brahma flagged off the journey of traditional game players at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) playground on March 31in the morning.
